Boiler Feedwater Conditioning

Steam boilers operate round the clock at high pressures and temperatures. Thus, water fed into the boiler must remain at a high enough temperature in order to avoid thermal shock to the boiler while at the same time, the water supplied to the system must maintain optimal chemical balance to avoid erosion caused by mineral deposits left behind from the heating process, which could cause  destruction to the piping system.

Similar to the treatment of drinking water, chemicals are also used for the regulation of water hardness and pH value in boiler feedwater (e.g. ammoniac solutions, caustic soda). Oxygen bonding agents such as hydrazine and other anti-corrosion protection methods are successfully employed in such circumstances. Lutz-Jesco dosing pumps are used for feeding various liquid chemicals, and Lutz-Jesco measuring and control technology for chemical regulation.
