Equipment Return Policy

The following procedures govern the return of all pumps, parts or accessories to Lutz-JESCO for repair or credit:

    

General Conditions

All returns must be authorized by Lutz-JESCO America Corporation.

  • An Equipment Return Authorization (ERA) number must be assigned by Lutz-JESCO for ALL returns.
  • Before returning any equipment, the sales office must contact Lutz-JESCO to request an ERA number. Unauthorized returns may be refused and returned to sender.
  • All returns must be accompanied by a completed “Equipment Return Authorization” form supplied by Lutz-JESCO and the ERA number written in the top right hand corner.
  • The “Equipment Return Authorization” form must be completed with all required information. The ERA # should appear not only on the ERA form, but also on the outside of the box and all related correspondence.
  • The service fluid must be identified. All pumps or pump parts that have been exposed to any service fluid must be thoroughly cleaned inside and out and must be accompanied by OSHA 20 form (Material Safety Data Sheet) detailing the service fluids. This procedure is necessary to protect Lutz- JESCO employees from exposure to potentially hazardous materials.
  • Any shipment received without meeting the above requirements may be refused and returned, freight collect, to the customer regardless of circumstances or reason for return.

 

Returns for Credit

  • In addition to the ERA form, returns should be accompanied by a copy of the Lutz-JESCO order verification and/or invoice.
  • Collect shipments will be authorized by Lutz-JESCO at the time the return authorization number is given. Generally UPS is authorized for parts.
  • The ERA form must be completed and reference the original order number and replacement order, if applicable. Replacement orders will NOT be generated by ERA forms. To insure a replacement order is received be sure to place a “bill and credit” order with Lutz-JESCO.
  • Returns for credit resulting from customer error (duplication of an order, incorrect pump or part specification, etc.) or customer misuse of pumps/parts will be inspected by Lutz-JESCO to determine restockablilty
    1. Credit requisitions will be considered for components returned within the warranty period and are subject to a restocking charge of 20% of the invoice price.
    2. Credit will not be considered for non-stock components such as special motors or materials of construction.

    

Returns for Customer-Paid Repair

  • Lutz-JESCO provides repair service for all pumps. Repair cost estimates will be provided to sales office when evaluation is complete. If the repair estimate exceeds 50% of the price of a new pump, Lutz-JESCO will provide the sales office pricing for both the repairs and a new replacement pump.
  • All work carries a one year warranty.
  • Pumps will be held for 60 days after a quotation for repair has been given. If no response is received from the sales office within that time, Lutz-JESCO will return the equipment, freight collect, to the customer without further follow-up.
